I wouldn't exactly call this a bug but I've noticed that su does not turn echo off immediatly upon invocation. There have been many occasions when I have run su to jump to root quickly and have just started typing the password immediatly before su is apparently able to accept it and it is echoed locally displaying portions of the password. Could su be updated to turn off local echo before anything else to prevent displaying of the password and possibly to read from the keyboard buffer for those in a hurry? Thanx for taking the time to go over this. -Tom __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com
