Well, if you know of browsers that don't handle html-3.2, and break on
parameters that they don't know, I guess that someone would have to
test them all, then?

But I very much doubt that this is more than a theoretical discussion,
because I know of no browser that handles texinfo-4.0 table output
correctly. With .jcn3, at least 3 are happier: mozilla, w3m,
and netscape. Lynx doesn't mind the fix.

Although I applaud your concern for supporting less regular browsers
and not introducing bugs, it doesn't make much sense to me to let this
delay an obvious fix for a known bug for most used browsers. More so,
because even with most regular browsers, 4.0 aparrently wasn't tested
nearly as well as you seem to want to impose now obscure browsers.

It seems that discussing vapourware on this list takes more of my time
than writing a new feature or making a small fix. Would you please
consider to devote more effort to making development releases
available, or maybe make texinfo development more open? It is getting
less and less encouraging for me to send patches if nothing seems to
happen.

Greetings,
Jan.
