I have a desktop with a "Radeon HD-7470", one screen plugged to a DisplayPort,
the other to DVI.
With latest snapshot, I observe the following:
When the machine boots, both screens turn on and get a mirror display.
By the time modsetting occurs, two things may happen:
- either both screens continue to get a mirror display;
- or only the DVI continues and the DisplayPort goes into savings mode;
When both screens continue, I can reach X and use both screens, however
when only the DVI one continues, I will not be able to use both screens
with X, only the DVI one will work.
I never know if both screens will work, it can take several reboots and
I will more often give up (like today) and use only one screen.
The strange thing is that even when the DisplayPort screen doesn't work
it is shown as connected with xrandr. I can extend my desktop to both
screens and move the cursor to the non-working screen.
I have installed a mid-January -current (which I'm running right now)
and the exact same behaviour is observed.
