actually, you only indicate that they operated in the extra portion of the band on 20m and 160m today. can't you get worked all states on 10/12/15/17/30/40 meters in the general portion of the band? the 14.220 might only be a problem for them because isn't this the mswe weekend? the band was loaded with them yesterday and they might have had trouble finding a clear spot, especially if they need to work split.

i feel your pain... when i received my general ticket in january, 1994, the py0yi, peter island dxpedition was in full swing and they were 20 over as well and i could not touch them. they eventually moved to the general portion a few days later and i did work them but that was very frustrating. back then, you needed to up your code speed to 25wpm for extra with a leap off in advanced. i did it, got my extra and now don't care where they are as i know i can work them.

part of the hobby is advancing through the ranks and being able to do other things. however, i understand that the arrl represents everyone from technician to extra. why then are they not on 28m for the technicians everyday? i am sure there are a lot of techs that would love to have WAS.

It sure would be nice if when W1AW/5 LA would locate within the General portion of the phone band on 80 meters or 40 or 20. Last night I had them 20 over on 3790 but that is out of band for me so all I could do was listen.

This morning they are on 20 meters at 14.220. Same situation.
