At the time I bought this home I had no idea I was going to come back to ham
radio. Had I been clairvoyant, I might have chosen a different location.

After I got relicensed, I had to live with the choice I made, as moving was
not an option. So I made another choice. . . .To ignore the restriction

Yes, life is still full of choices.

If you move into a neighborhood with a HOA/restrictions and you sign the
papers, you shouldn't complain. I have the same problem with people who buy
a house next to an airport then complain about the airplane noise. Really?
You didn't notice that airport before you bought the house? Oh, you didn't
realize that airplanes made noise? I'm sorry, but if putting up an antenna
means I have to live next door to "Sanford & Son," I think I'll do without
the antenna. Yes, Michael, I agree - life requires choices - and that we
live with the choices or make another choice. :)

So Cookie, are you trying to tell me that life requires choices?

The only answer to HOAs is to refuse to buy a house that has an HOA with
antenna restrictions. If you buy the house and agree, you are stuck with
the restrictions you agreed to. If most people will readily agree, then you
will have trouble finding a house to buy, but there are some. If you want
to live in an organized sub-division where everyone needs to conform to the
rules, then you are the problem because most people do not want to live
where someone might interfere with their soap opera to use a transmitter.
If your spouse insists on living in such an awful place, then it is up to
you to convince the spouse the error of their ways, suffer the consequences
or live with someone else or alone. It is all up to you!
