FYI, I was about to click "buy" on a new radio from HRO, and decided to take Bill's excellent advice and ask them if they would offset the newly-imposed Texas sales tax with a discount. I noted my active membership / participation in ARES, SKYWARN, etc. in my request.
They responded very quickly, as always: "I am sorry. sales tax is required by law for those in Texas now that we operate in Texas.
