Yeah, there is that. I'm seriously toying with mounting my old Butternut
atop my aluminum utility shed. Hmm. I only work the digital modes above 40m
so I'm not certain it's worth the effort, but could be.

I suspect that 23' is fair for 20 M. and even better for 15 M.
up.  The other issue with dipoles is directionality of course.

All:

Dipoles have a lower angle of reception unless
they're up at lease a 1/2 wave length off the 
ground or a vertical.  I suspect these guys are
radiating at about 10-15 degs.  Low deployed
dipoles are much better for short skip than DX.
