This is realty two projects in one, A RF volt meter that squares the voltage,
divides by 50 and displays it as Watts.  The second is something that has been
around for a while called a CanTenna. They can be built in the quart or gallon
size. I guess you could build it in a five gallon paint bucket.  I suggest for
a higher power unit more individual resistors be used so long as the total
parallel resistors equal 50 ohms.  You could also put the quart unit in a
bucket of Ice water but there is a limit to how fast the heat can get away from
the resistors.

As for the volt meter I suggest the D-1, C-1, R1 & R2  could be mounted in a
piece of metal tube with a coax connector or on the RF end and  some of coax
with another connector into the meter box.  A tee connector would allow the
meter to work in an antenna line, between transceiver and power amp or where
ever else.  Also by changing the ratio of r,1 & R-2 the range could be changed.

It might be fun to build!

I may tackle the  WATTMETER/DUMMY   mentioned  last night,   NOV QST.    Looks
easy, includes a display, and would be useful…150 or even 200 watts for a short
time… and about $20 for the parts.

I thought last night’s meeting was very good…. we have some good guys running
BVARC!

Here is another project for those (and any one else) who attended the club
meeting last night.
Click or copy and paste this link into your browser. This uses the Uno board
but it has the same pinout as the Nano.
