Those days are over. I used to be your friendly neighborhood TV man in
1968, have done in- and out- of warranty repair to consumer electronics for
most of the brands. I last repaired Toshiba big screens. It is no longer
practical or profitable to do so. I ended up having to make a lateral move
to repairing CNC lathes and mills such as have a Fanuc or Mazak
controller. Thankfully now I am retired. If there is anybody still doing
this it may well be on a depot basis.
