Yikes! Dont click that link. Spoof browsers pop up like crazy!
In the past radios were made with parts the size of the kiddie versions of
legos, that TS 570 is pretty much all on chip. Not easy to diagnose.
What's the radio doing/not doing? Would be awesome if someone on here knew the
fix for your problem!
This guy is in the Northern part of Dallas, not too far of a drive. Ham Radio

Having been in a, similar, service-based business myself, the simple fact is
that you need to have a consistent flow of sales to support salary and
overhead. That said, fewer hams are all shopping for the best price for
equipment and supplies, therefore buying from the big boys online. On top of
that, manufacturer's like to pay flat-rate for repairs, which is normally OK
and its a hard-sell to convince them to pay for those difficult troubleshooting
jobs, such as intermittent issues.  So for a brick and mortar store with fixed
costs (rent and utilities, insurance), inventory, tools, test equipment,
salaries, manufacturers'-required training, etc., its just not a viable startup
for anyone today.  Some of us remember Heathkit stores, had a virtual monopoly
on their gear and no shortage of customer-built-incorrectly repairs and still
closed its doors years ago.  I elected factory-authorized field-service repair
for large UPS systems.

Why doesn't a city as large as the Houston METRO area have at least ONE Factory
Authorized SERVICE facility to repair major BRANDS of HAM RADIO Equipment,
guessing MAJOR manufacturers support of their products not as important to the
corporate types & purchasers are left to their own when REPAIRS or WARRANTY
SERVICE IS NEEDED.

This person is not local...but I have had good success with him.  He did a
complete overhaul (capacitor replacement, alignment, etc.) on my TS-850S and
turned it around in just a few days.
