Mike tell me what the job is and I will look for a boring bar.  There are a lot
of inexpensive Chinese machine tools on the market that would do the job.
I found my South Bend on Crags list. I had to drive almost to Galveston then
borrow a engine hoist to get it out of my van  $700.  There are smaller lathes.
I found mine at crags list.  I have seen them at hamfests now and then.  Also
Harbor freight sells one.

Hi John, Sounds like it would do the trick. How much does the boring bar you
have in mind cost? I know they vary quite a bit. I wouldn’t mind making the
drive if nobody closer can help. I’m actually looking for a machine for my
garage right now. Something with a decent capacity. Something with a 5’ bed
with a 6-8” swing. Single phase. Not sure if you know anyone selling used.

Mike I think my 1939 South Bend 9" would do it.  However I am north of 99 where
it turns East.  Just barely in SW Montgomery county.  I don't have a boring
tool that would do the job.  I might let you buy me a boring bar. How deep do
we have to go?

Does anyone have access to a lathe? I have two Delrin parts I need to remove 10
thousandths from the bore. Would need to be able to hold a 2.25” piece. Willing
to pay for the service of course. Thanks! 73, Mike GiannaccioW5REZ
