Given that the club doesn't have alot of money, especially for ongoing
expenses for a clubhouse, like property taxes, maintenance and the like, I have
an alternate proposal.
The club does have some equipment that has been donated to it. What about
finding an RF quiet location and setting up a remotely operated online HF
station? It could run Digi/CW/SSB. With an equitable reservations program for
members, especially for those that don't have easy access to HF. It can also be
a great mentoring platform for radio ops. I'd be happy to help out with such a
concept, and it'll fit within the club's goal for training and mentoring.

Yes Chris, I remember the HARC clubhouse it was at the end of Lozier St. off
OST   I cant rememberwhen the HARC club dissolved and do not remember any of
that history...  Might not bemany folks left that remember those fun days...
early 80s?
Problem is real estate prices are so high .... that means rent is high... even
on an oldmetal building in an old part of town.. :)

I wish.... Not being in Houston makes it a little hard. But I do have contacts
there. I think it would be great if the club had a permanent clubhouse, if it
has the money to be able to afford it. The old Houston amateur radio club site
was down near the Astrodome and eventually became, shall we say, an area nobody
wanted to visit. I love the bi-monthly auctions they had. Bought a lot of gear
because of them. It's time for Houston to have that again..I'd be happy to join
the committee. I'd have to be making the meetings at night or on the weekends
though. Provided I'm not on the road for work which I've been doing a lot of.
In fact I have today off because I already hit my 40 hours yesterday
