Thanks for the presentation, Terry!
I'd also suggest people check out this excellent video put together by BVARCers
Tom Morton (SK) and Jon Noxon:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UgoY2mvUds.
It's a short video, but I've watched it dozens of times. There's a lot of very
good information packed into less than 6 minutes.
My own solution ended up being a homebrewed copy of the DX Commander
ground-mounted multi-band/element quarter wave vertical antenna. It looks like
a kite pole sticking up in my back yard; the HOA does not recognize it as an
antenna, so they've never said a word. (My HOA has a policy of no antennas at
all, except for TV antennas that they're required to permit by law. But I got
DXCC with this antenna. DX Commander YouTube channel is
here:https://www.youtube.com/@DXCommanderHQ. He has several videos showing
assembly, and his website has all the wire lengths for the elements, etc.
(download the manual(s) in .pdf), so it's easy enough to make your own. It'll
be a lot less work to just buy one from him, and probably won't cost much more
than DIY (and you're likely to end up with higher quality components)...
Website ishttps://dxcommander.com/.
Hope this helps some folks!

technical. It is "practical".There are plenty of technical gurus available to

Hi everyone,
I am still in the research mode for my first HF radio, and this shared
perspectives are helpful. Any thoughts or suggestions on an antenna for a home,
i.e. leave outside and can take down and move if needed?
