Hello all: I’m one of the latest additions (joined Saturday) to BVARC. Name: Wolfgang (Wolf) Sign: KJ5NPH
I hope I don’t violate etiquette by posting this. If so, please let me know. I just received a transceiver I ordered. An ICOM 7300 Mark II. I also ordered a mic and a power supply. However, at a minimum I’ll need an antenna, maybe more. If you know that model or its predecessor ICOM 7300, could you recommend antennas? I’m in a townhouse and want to use it inside my room if possible, not on the roof. Also, I’m not made of gold bars so a budget solution is preferred. If I get one, I think I need to do a station evaluation. Can someone tell me what I need to do and what equipment I need (meters etc.)? Thanks in advance for any feedback. My preferred stores are Amazon and GigaParts. Ideally, I want to find the exact suggestion you may make so I don’t fry my transceiver on Day 1. Let’s see how this adventure goes. I thought the tests were the hard part, but it’s not getting easier after those. :) Regards, Wolfgang Sent from my iPhone ________________________________________________ Brazos Valley Amateur Radio Club BVARC mailing list [email protected] http://mail.bvarc.org/mailman/listinfo/bvarc_bvarc.org Publicly available archives are available here: https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
