Wolf,  In looking at your abode in Google street mode, maybe a (temporary)
fiberglass push up pole with wire inside or out, placed from the railing on
your second floor balcony.  and wire hanging down to the ground for
additional length.  Place a matching network (tuner) at the bottom of the
pole and see what bands you can cover.   I suggest this as having an
antenna inside in your situation is probably not the best (it isn't).
 Putting "something" outside is the preferable way to go.

Do you park your truck outside all the time?  If so, consider putting an
antenna on your truck and running the feedline into your radio inside.
 Many options exist for mobile mounted antennas.
