Hey Richard, Jim WA5JIM spent his Tuesday Net slot brainstorming the "handrail vertical Yagi" idea. No actual record exists. Jim is a super cool guy with lots of great ideas. He wants to make an ultra-simple, 3-element, wire Yagi by tacking wires to his handrail. Reflector, Driven Element, Director. Classic. MINIMAL effort. No boom. No mast. How about that! Once it works, copy to north, south, and west instances!
Duct tape is good for an antenna, but the models I have seen use copper foil tape embedded in the non-mallalic duct tape. You can make a dipole or a J Pole! See: https://youtu.be/d5itl1uWGtU I am particularly ready to meet the new guy. He lives out near Kori. I am hoping someone did a better job of catching his name! ;-) 73 Dan KJ5IZK On Wed, Jan 28, 2026 at 2:29 PM Richard Bonica <[email protected]> wrote: > That is why I like you Dan..... > > You and I are alike..
