We are in good shape on parts, for this class and the next.
We can always use more RAM, though. I'm trying to get all the graduate
machines up to 256MB, or at the least 192MB. That would be SD-RAM (not
many donations yet use DDR but that's increasing, as are DDR2 etc.),
preferably 100 or 133, and we can use 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB strips.
We can definitely use some BIOS batteries. We salvage what we can, but
used batteries have a definite shelf life. So, new batteries would be
good.
On an unrelated note, one of the other volunteers, Bill, has come across
a couple of CDs of diagnostic utilities that may be useful to us, he was
going to do some testing and experimenting. A further suggestion is
that, when triaging, the first step should be testing that the power
supply is good (and I suppose, then the BIOS battery).
