Who are you helping? It seemed like a generic thread you started aimed at the general population rather than a specific individual. Then you started challenging people. In "all-caps" sentences. > As i said I don't use recursion - i came up with a > quick example which had one addition if/then test. > > Also the strlen is called because it was not about > efficiently but size in this case. The calling > parameters are fixed. Do YOU have a better solution. The best solution is to simply not use recursion. It isn't necessary nor is it appropriate for the scenario. Anything less than the best solution is an exercise in futility. > You know nothing about me True. But I rarely need more than two e-mails to know enough. I've got some weird talents. > and take a personal attacks > against my work - the way your acting concerns me that > your a smug know it all. Been around the industry for 18 years and, while I don't know everything, I do know enough to know how to dig myself into a hole. I guess that's the "smug" part. But it is more being "stubborn" than being "smug": To me, a Senior Software Developer means something more than just a title. If someone writes sloppy code in public and associate it with their title, they either diminish the meaning of the title or associate poor quality with their company as a whole. This is something I feel quite strongly about. And, while being a pretty "old fashioned" view, it is still a valid view today. And this is a view you can't get me to change (hence, stubborn). So I guess it comes down to: What do you want your title and company associated with? Poorly written (recursion) code? Or code that you can look back on in 10 years and say, "Woah - that was pretty good...did I really write that?" You initiated the thread - seemingly to everyone - and associated your title, company, and reputation with the messages you sent. What were people supposed to think? Any of that make sense?
