Saying nothing about the badness of recursion and how you don't use it in your code, while at the same time using it in a new thread to the list, is the same thing as recommending it. There might as well have been a gaudy marquee flashing: <marquee><font size=100><blink>RECOMMENDED</blink></font></marquee> In your message.* * Uh...that's my attempt at humor. It's very geeky. BTW, this list goes in cycles and while your endeavor to solve recursion homework problems forever might seem noble. However, new students arrive every month/semester with the same problems and questions...not having bothered to search the c-prog archives (or Google) before posting. SQL via C++ questions come up just about as often as recursion problems. I learned a long time ago to be a lurker for about 3-4 months on any given list before making my first post. If you were replying to someone, you broke an implicit c-prog "rule" of initiating a new thread and cutting out the person you were replying to. Not exactly a rule, but it definitely ruffled some feathers. Oh. I suppose I should mention. I'm the owner of c-prog. I like to make sure good content heads towards those who are learning C/C++. I knew I chewed you out for another reason...just couldn't remember what it was. You managed to side-track me. Or I was side-tracked by this Google ban I got myself into (automated program in C++ to search Google for specific information - my own fault). Or I'm just tired. Or some combination of the three. Oh, and welcome to c-prog. Slightly off on the wrong foot, but I never assume first impressions are correct. First impressions of me are ALWAYS wrong...and I like it like that. > --- Thomas Hruska <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> Mickey Mathieson wrote: >>> I was answering a question - I don not use >> recursion >>> in my code. >> Then you shouldn't recommend the usage of recursion >> to other people - >> especially those who are learning.
