[c-prog] Diameter base Protocol

Dear all,
         i have just started work on building Diameter base Protocol
APIs, and application etc for IP Multimedia Subsytems(IMS)
Architecture. but i am very much new to this protocol, although i have
 experience of building TCP applications. 
         Anybody please let me know basic programming overview of
Diameter base protocol implementations from scratch (like some code
snippets)
        I mean i would like to join specific forums, code sites, and other
resource areas, anybody any help is welcome.
