(InnoSetup is something like Delphi 3-based since later versions 
apparently bloat the file size or introduce dependencies).

I realize a number of popular shareware apps. use Delphi/Lazarus (e.g. 
Spybot Search&Destroy), but that doesn't make it any less dead as a 
language.

By "dead", I'm referring to the number of people learning and actively 
using it and how readily support is available for it.  PHP, C, and C++ 
all have comparatively more active communities surrounding them.

The ONLY reason I even know Pascal is because of InnoSetup's embedded 
Pascal interpreter for implementing custom code.
