Unless the virus is written in Emacs lisp and can trick Gnus into
executing it, I'm safe myself 8-).

Yes, hundreds of Spam/Virus mails is the norm for those of us with
increased visibility in OS projects.

Different groups have different policies, most lists (and I think it
is the default setting) strip more or less all attachments.
Personally I'm very grateful that our lists strip HTML alternatives
and only allow text/plain postings.

The only lists that I'm aware of that allow attachments are those for
conference planing and talk-submissions.  There may be more.
