Hi Lawrence, (You don't seem to be subscribed to the list as I've had to moderate your post. This means that if someone else answers your mail without cc-ing you you won't see the answer - unless you're following the list manually using gmane or something alike)

What happened is that the Cactus Eclipse plugin was developed by one person who has left just after writing 90% of it. It was in a functional state when he left but with things left to make it production ready. Unfortunately, at the same time, the Cactus Ant integration on which is was building was modified quite extensively (it was transformed from a build.xml implementation to a Java solution using the Ant tasks directly from Java). Unfortunately nobody in the Cactus community seemed to have either the Eclipse knowledge nor the itch to upgrade the Eclipse plugin to the new Ant integration and the Eclipse plugin had to be decommissioned (i.e. removed from the Cactus distribution). It is still in Cactus CVS waiting for someone to improve it (which is actually a relatively easy job I'd say). Several persons have expressed their wish to work on it but I've not seen any actual result so far. Here's for the story :-) Thus, I don't think there'll be lots of duplication happening in practice. I really appreciate your asking. If you're looking for people who can help, you can always post requests here on this list and you may find people interested in participating. Now if Daniel or others have questions or need a Cactus API to be modified for a better integration, etc, let them know that they're more than welcome to ask here.
