So, from what I understand, there can be issues when installing packages from contrib that result in image-update issues. As such, do we really want to tempt people to add contrib to their list of repositories? I think this will just generate needless support traffic. I think the better approach is to remove any mention of /contrib. If people really want to risk breaking things things until the contrib repo gets sorted out then they'll have to "go looking" for information on how to do so and perhaps find that it's not the best idea at the moment.
