The slice devices that are used in addressing the disk are relative to the containing FDISK partition. There isn't any support in whichever driver (sda?) to map multiple FDISK partitions into the device space.

You may be able to play games with partition id's and GRUB to get it to work, but it's explicitly untested and unsupported.
