John's right, you're reading way into it. I mean, would you rather not be updated on the status of the feature? If it was a major priority, I would have given a definite time frame, but it's not, so I can't (not that it isn't an important feature). Besides, if I was trying to give you an attitude, suggesting that you're obnoxious, or insinuating that you're bugging the crap out of me, believe me, you'd know.
Also, you may want to consider that we're a small team doing a whole lot of work, including coding, testing, writing documentation (no, I'm not kidding) and answering everyones' questions. More often than not, "I don't like your attitude" is basically the thanks we get. The other thing we get a lot of is people saying "you should change X to work like this," or "you should add feature Y". No, we shouldn't. CakePHP is the lean, mean framework it is today because we say 'no' a lot more often than 'yes'. That's why 'should' isn't a word you want to approach an Open Source project or team member with. I'm not reading into buzznut's intention here (I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, since he's right anyway), I'm just speaking in general terms. If you think you have a good idea for a feature, great. Write a patch, submit a ticket, and we'll think about it (again, buzznut, not directed at you, I just happen to be on a roll right now). Now, I've spent a lot of time ranting lately. Contrary to popular belief, I don't enjoy it. It's a pain and it wastes my time; time that I could be spending writing code. Unfortunately, however, you people can't read my mind (not that I expect you to), and while I greatly appreciate the fact that the vast majority of you on this list are intelligent and well-intentioned, the fact is, every once in a while, someone gets certain ideas into their heads, or just says something downright stupid (as we saw recently in another thread). When that happens, those people need to be corrected. I mean hey, somebody's got to do it. Gwoo's the good cop, and we try not to let PhpNut stop coding, so that pretty much leaves me.
