Leon, as Tarique mentioned, Cake components are tightly integrated, but it
might still be possible considering how Cake has been built using OO
principles, so it might not be *too* difficult

I'd be interested in whatever results you come up with. If you can come up
with a good process for separating 1 piece, maybe that same process could be
applied to other areas of Cake (so people can use parts of cake without
using the entire framework, if they desired)
