(Something you seem to have missed when you first responded.)
Now, to your more recent response. In your first response, you
stated:

By "custom url box", I mean permalinks. It's the same challenge. If I
use AJAX as you suggest, my users can't get the url from the URL for
the page they're on from the browser, so hence I would have to make a
custom url for the page. (Klunky and unnatural.)
I am more than happy to "just build it, damnit". But the question is,
which framework to build it with. (And has one done this job
already.)
