People should be encouraged to be self sufficient learners Asking the entire group a question that has been asked many times before suggests that the poster expects others to provide answers and even code
back in 2005/2006 the list was quite different towards that mentality eg "I wanna use ajax cake pagination in 1.2beta" two different posters may use the same subject title but one may have an unrealistic expectation of the depth of detail those who will reply will go into. when high maintenance posters become frequent the benefits of the list, are affected. not quoting anyone here but have seen messages such as this > I am building a facebook style app it is going scale rapidly can cake >> handle that >> > "Oh yet another poster who whats cakephp to turn him into Zuckerberg in an afternoon" much of this is due to the sheer brilliance of cakephp eg cakephp answers & TV fore instance; People see such things and get excited and think they could achieve dreams with the right answer and (in some cases no effort on their part) and that is a double edge sword really; one of the sufferance's of success - S On 5 February 2011 05:55, Jeremy Burns | Class Outfit < [email protected]> wrote: > You're missing my point. > > Jeremy Burns > Class Outfit > > [email protected] > http://www.classoutfit.com > > On 5 Feb 2011, at 05:52, andy_the ultimate baker wrote: > > > The forum is all about to promote innovative thoughts and sharing > > knowledge. but just for the sake of "please" u just cat stop yourself > > by giving an answer for it becouse it is not only the person who is > > reffering you answer but everyone who googled it for the same. and > > believe me u cant c the expression but it help a lot to that third > > person, i never reply anyone just for giving an answer to him/her it > > is for all who are looking for it. > > i always welcome every one even if he is not giving me "please"! > > > > On Feb 5, 10:34 am, Jeremy Burns | Class Outfit > > <[email protected]> wrote: > >> I agree completely.
