someone just reported an issue with FileWriter on ios6 ( https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-1559) similar to a FileReader issue I fixed a few weeks back. Fix is likely easy, just taking a look right now to confirm and see if any other things need fixing. Should be solved today.
