T.38 passthrough has never worked for me in any version of asterisk, to/from any combination of ATAs, t38modem, callweaver and MGCs. For the record, I never got it to work in callweaver either, but I didn't do as much testing. Is it / should it be any better? As for the asterisk bounty, you might as well give up, IIRC Digium has said they don't want any more T.38 patches because they plan on putting T.38 into the commercial edition of asterisk.
