Dear bang, I have my dream now of living in Down Under whenI retire, seriously,
after I heard all you described about Oriental fruits there, my wife like meang
Khoot, Saomao, and she like claim tree, no kidding, because she was kaun neak
chomkah from Battombang. Talk about buzy life, I think you and I are the same,
I drop my two boys at his university every morning on my way to work, and pick
them up during my lunch time and my off from work time, in Friday, even my days
off, why? Because they still go to school, and we just make enough money to pay
fro our mortgage, utility and our monthly expense, car insurrance cost to high
for them, we can not afford yet, this also because of I had gotten a speedy
ticket and one accident in one yeay ( two years ago ), you know I ran 4
freeways to drop them and go to work every morning every morning in less than
one hour, can't avoid this kind of incident happen,
Talk about khoar chev, lok Leon and bang Heang! becareful when you wear it
around your grand children, watch out! Sometime the kid just pull it off
infront of everybody, or don't play with your dog, they might drag it off from
you, too, it's true,

Take care,
KC

Dear KM & KC,

I love Khoar Cheov that I wear everyday. It's so comfortable.....more air
circulalates that's good for the Summer.
It doesn't matter if we put more or losse weights.I think it's so owesome
designed pan from our ancestors.
I have two Khor Cheo were tailored by my Mother in Law.
Sometime I wear Kramar for the hot weather....it's so cool and it's adaptable
for the Climate in Australia.

Now we're getting cold here in Down Under.....some snows in mountains but not
in Sydney.
This morning I dropped my son at his University and I driven straight to Blue
Mountain, Leura, 1 hour driving .Having a very nice coffee
and an almond croissant that make my day.It was chilly but nice to have a
beautiful sunshine & blue sky.
The air is so fresh and people are friendly...and happy .And I asked myself
when & when we're going to see our Khmer-People
lives by having the opportunity & the  prosperity  to live like  the Aussies ?

Cheers,
Ung Bunheang

Thank you Lok Sacrava & Lok KC for talking about KHOAR CHEO (folded trousers)
I knew very wel what is Khoar Cheo. My father used to use it when he went to
pagoda festival.
It's realy a traditional men wear especially in country side.
For my mother (died in 1956), she often wore in that time "AO BAMPONG VENG"
black coloured
of tissu LANH imported from china. It seems just a mode of CHAM women vestment.
I ask myself
some time if my mother was originated cham?. I think it's not. But may be in
that time, khmer
women was under cham civilisation.

Otherway after WWII, I heart people say french colonialist forbade khmer people
to plan cotton
plante but they even plant secretly for familly using in fabrication of TEHEK
Tissu wich people
made KRAMA, KHOAR (usually KHOAR CHEO). In some village, each khmer familly has
only one
Krama for all the member. So if the husband get out the house, the wife stayed
in bared or nude.

That is our social history!

Regards,
krakmo
