Yanne, Some people believe that Decho Hun Sen is the reincarnation of Decho Damdin or the reincarnation of Snech Korn...(go figure). The Thais people, especially in the rural areas are vulnerable to such a belief---they believe in superstition. When I was in Thailand in the 1975 people had asked me to write Khmer scripts and draw some "Yontra" on a white handkerchief for them to keep as sacred towel. With his money, Like Hun Sen, Thaksin can manipulate rural Thai people to believe in any thing he wants. Fearing his popularity, Thai King and Abhisit's administration want to make sure that Thaksin stays as far as possible from Thailand. Let me tell you how Taksin saga became serious matter in Thailand. If we believe Karma, re-incarnation in Buddhism, Taksin drama is fit to this way. I think million of Thai people have the same believe like I do .If you read Thai history during the liberation of Burmese occupation of 18th.century, a governor of Tak province named Phya Taksin, his parents are Chinese immigrant, rose to power by chasing Burmese out of Ayouthia, in fact Burmese had its own domestic problem at that time, and proclaimed himself as the king of Thailand by choosing Thonburi as his capital. After pacify and consolidate power, Taksin turned his eye on Cambodia, basically he was not interested to annex Cambodia, but he wanted to capture any survival Ayuthia royal families whom had fled to Cambodia during the killing spree of Burmese in Thailand. There were two princes from Ayuthia were seeking refuge in Hatien under Chinese war lord Mac-Tuon-Li. In Cambodia, Ang Chan refuged to recognize Taksin as a king of Thailand because of Taksin is a commoner not having any royal blood from previous dynasty, Taksin was angry and assisted King Ang Non to regain power in Cambodia. Taksin sent two generals, one was Chakri (later Rama i) and other Surasee who had married two Ang Chan aunts. Taksin soldiers burned Phnom Penh to the ashes. He ordered Surasee to station in Oudong with his own son Intapak, and Chakri was in Battambang. Enjoying being a king, Taksin became mental ill, he elevated himself as the Buddha by ordering Thai buddhist monks to salute him, one account european envoys were listening Taksin preaching that he is a Buddha, he can fly etc..Later on Taksin was deposed by his own palace minister, amid of chaos in Thonburi palace some key ministers were inviting Chakri from Cambodia to settle trouble in Thonburi. Upon his arrival with massive of soldiers with him, Chakri was elevated to be the king of Thailand styling as RAMA, no one opposed. At the time a coronation, Taksin was plea for his life, but the new king and his ministers were executing Taksin immediately at the same time ordered Thai soldier to kill Taksin son in OUdong as well.According to astrology the Chakri dynasty will not be lasted more than 150 years. If we are counting from 1782 to now this dynasty lasted up to 227 years already, it surpassed the prediction. But now the Taksin re-incarnation is coming back, like empire strike back, this is a superstitious belief of Thai people who revered their king are worried right now. will this curse be accurately predicted ?
