H.E. Hun Sen is trying to connect himself with Sdach Korn whom used to be pagoda boy, born in the year of Naga and similarity of Sdach Korn revolutioanry . His wife and his entourage had the same feeling, that why he paid professor Ros Chantraboth to rewrite Sdach Korn history . If you read Ros Chantraboth Khmer history in part one he did translate fully from George Cedes book. Decho Damdin happened during the debut of Angkor decline, at that time king Indravarman II sent his commander to subdue the rebellion in Sukholthay, but at the mean time the revolt of Siam was at peak, with Mongol advise, the tributary states had to disconnect themselves from the empire and being independent. You see Sokhothay and Savankhalok are twin cities from Angkor period, each governors received royal title from Angkor Kings as Kamara Steng An it means in today language Korom Deng Sdach Ang, it's higher than rank Steng An (Sdach Ang ). Decho Domdin was commander in Chief from Angkor, by the time of his arrival at twin cities was late, Ramakhamheng and his friends already took power and establishing social infrastructure which similar to Kublai Khan, I believed Decho Domdin was killed during the intense battle.To glorify the succsess of their king who liberated themselves from KHmer,Thai inserted their own legend about their king, the father of Thai nation, in front of Sukhothay palace there is Decho Damdin stone where the dead body of DechoDomdin was burried until today as historic monument of Thailand.
