Hun Sen was one of those who opposed the genocide. The former Khmer Rouge who opposed the genocide of course are no longer Khmer Rouge, and of course they bear no responsibility for the genocide. Now the word "Khmer Rouge" refers to only those Khmer Rouge who committed or supported the genocide.
