My UniColor enlarger uses mirrors to mix th light without the usual
styrofoam mixing box. Because of this, the Unicolor enlarger is VERY
bright.
The design is "inline", the lamp faces the lens. In other enlargers like
the Besseler, the lamp is perpendicular to the lens. The light enters a
styrofoam box from the side, hits a 45 degree end which bounces the light
down toward the lens.
There is a 3 stop difference between the two enlargers using the same
wattage lamp.
