Hi- I use Netscape, not OE. The posts came through with blue text
against a dark green background; a poor choice of colours as well as
requiring several times the bandwidth of plain text. Netscape allows the
individual to easily turn off (and leave off) HTML encoding for sending
messages but if it's turned off for receiving, then you get the entire
HTML instruction set with the actual message buried somewhere within
huge masses of drivel. So it's perhaps the lesser of 2 evils to be able
to receive an HTML post looking more or less legible.
It's more than just politeness to turn off HTML for posting to a
newsgroup or mail list which are supposed to be "text only" because HTML
is equivalent to a huge graphic file.
                                bye, sid
