Guess I don't follow you - the easel for a vertical enlarger is horizontal
to the floor.  I have a home-made easel that works great. It is made from a
laminate of two, 1 in. particle boards and a sheet of galvanized iron with
leveling screws in the corners.  I use fridge magnet material to hold the paper.
