Ok, we're gonna try something. At the proddings of several people on #camino, I have disabled the splash screen for approximately a week so we can get some feedback on what it's like not having it. It will show up in builds from the morning of Dec 5 (Friday).
My primary reason for leaving it in is to show the user that the app really is loading after the app icon stops bouncing (which even in my debug build is just one bounce) and while it loads gecko which could take upwards of an additional ten seconds.
I'd like some feedback from people with slower hardware to see if it really feels wrong to have it just sit there with no visible feedback. I know already what the people with fast hardware will say :)
Mike, what is the definition of slow hardware? :-) Pre-G4?
