The biggest benefit I could see to this would be for folks who back up their profiles frequently; without the cache files, a profile is pleasantly small. e.g. I could keep a copy of my profile on my USB thumbdrive for moving from machine to machine.

The size of the cache makes a thumbdrive a bad idea and backups a bit tedious sometimes.
