They are here is how it all works.

A branch was cut along time ago from the trunk, of the mozilla source
tree. All 0.8.x releases are created from that branch. The branch is not
 modified a lot - it gets a few bug fixes and security fixes.

All new important features (Midas, Tabs etc...) are made on the trunk.
One day a new branch will be taken from the trunk to make 0.9.
