Hi again! > Bug 101743 requests this as part of the main download window for the > core products.
That would be great, especially as there is plenty of space in the "Downloading now" page -- plus, it's the best looking "Downloading now" page I have seen on the web, it should be displayed some more! > I'm not really clear where we could put it though that would meet the > twin aims of (a) avoiding confusing or scaring the majority of users > who aren't interested in it, I guess most users would simply ignore the checksum on the site as well as any feature to display the checksum of a downloaded item in the downloads window if they are not interested. >and (b) being easy enough to access to > overcome laziness in the rest of us. Maybe display the checksum in the Downloads window where "Completed in 00:00:00…" is now shown after a download? If it's displayed automatically, it could be a preference. Otherwise, it could simply require clicking on the gray line — easy to find for those who know it's there and/or have read the help, invisible for the others. The Safari team used a similar trick to stuff more information in their Downloads window and people found about it quite quickly — and didn't seem too taken aback by the additional feature. What does everyone think? FJ _______________________________________________ Camino mailing list [email protected] http://mozdev.org/mailman/listinfo/camino
