One of the sites is Youtube, but it is mainly the act of simply having Camino open at all. And it isn't merely the site-specific sound output that is affected, it's sytem-wide. What audio card are you using Ruurd? I suspect it's something between the M-Audio card management software and Camino.

Cannot confirm.  I never quit Camino, and let my computer sleep every
night.  My sound is never muted.  What sites do you leave open?  Maybe
some with some elements that produce sound?  Never resulted in any
problem on both my PPC G5/10.4 and PPC/G3/10.3.  Maybe it is a
combination of applications.  Usually my iTunes is running as well.
