I haven't been able to force-replicate the problem annoyingly, so I'll keep an eye on that and let you know if I notice anything. I just tried sleeping and waking and music within Camino (from Pandora) worked fine. Would it be of any use to anyone to receive the free card-management software, I'm not a tech person myself, but if you want to debug Camino it may be more use to have the software and run your own diagnostics than rely on me as a layman.

One of the sites is Youtube, but it is mainly the act of simply having
Camino open at all. And it isn't merely the site-specific sound output
that is affected, it's sytem-wide. What audio card are you using Ruurd?
I suspect it's something between the M-Audio card management software
and Camino.

Any messages in the console when this happens ? (the console.app is
located in /Applications/utilities)
