Why not use your DC charging unit gas engine/auto alternator and add
a good adjustable voltage controller such
as>http://www.alphasolar.com/alpha_solar_024.htm
and while you are producing all that DC, why not convert it to AC
with your inverter?>http://www.alphasolar.com/alpha_solar_025.htm
The controller and inverter work regardless of how you supply them
with juice, meaning they don't care if it is your solar panel, DC
generator, or the RV alternator feeding the voltage.
If you build an expansion chamber type exhuast for your small gas
engine you might even gain some power on top of quieting it down,
Gator! we need some pull tractor shop talk here! Remember to change
the oil in those small engines every 40 hours or less, it is the
lifeblood of the whole thing and they seldom hold more than 1 quart
of oil, pay me now or pay me later, forget to oil change and listen
to the sudden CluHHH!
