If you do allot of in and out of the water during the course of a season,
these things are ideal.

It takes a while to "tune" them in when they are new, i.e. get all the
stretch out. But once you have that, you leave the setting and don't touch
it, take the mast down while unfolded and just coil and tie the stays up for
trailering. They do tighten up slightly when in a relaxed state on the
trailer.
