I use goto every once in a while. There are situations where using one
helps code readability and/or maintainability and can occassionally help
performance, but you have to know what you are doing to know when those
situations are appropriate - and documenting why a goto is used is
particularly helpful. For new programmers like the OP, goto is not the
right way to do things. Use a while or for-loop instead (depending on the
situation).
