Hi Jan, The Catalog of Japanese Coins and Banknotes is one of the best and is basically the Japanese counterpart to the U.S. Redbook of coins except that it includes banknotes as well as coins. It has all the current issues plus all of the old ones like the ones that you are referring to.
I checked on Amazon.com but they do not carry it. Amazon.co.jp does have it but I do not think they will ship outside of Japan. I could pick up a copy here for you, if we can iron out the payment. It costs 1,400 yen plus 5% consumption tax. So that is 1,470 yen or about US$13.60 @ 108 yen/US$, give or take a few cents. I think shipping would be no more than US$10. The other option is to breeze the 'net and search for "Japanese Coins" or "Japanese Banknotes". There's a guy in L.A. that runs a shop that specializes in Japanese Coins and Banknotes. He may carry this catalog. Let me know. Also, to follow up with our discussion. Check out the following link for the Hiroshige prints and other such items. And yes, they are expensive. I was rather surprised. http://www.adachi-hanga.com/hp_english/en_tokaido_index.htm Art Tokyo --- Jan Schwenk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Art, > > > > Sorry delayed answer - that was a lame attempt at a > joke.
