If it triggers the incorrect associations, it is not the best name.

They seem to be against writing and *maintaining* tests. Developers
have always written some kinds of tests for themselves, but never had
to worry about maintaining a test suite. My suspicion is that they see
test suites as explicitly the job of the testing group (so does senior
management), with development being handed the work because there are
not enough testers. Ultimately, it may be a trust issue. I am not
quite sure - this organization has behaviors that still surprise me
after 2 years of interacting with them from 3000 miles away.
