Date - 23 May 06
Day - Tuesday
Start - Windsor
End - Hampton Court

Shortly after we moored up the rowing fraternity arrived, we were on the
24hr visitor moorings adjacent to there launching spot so they moored
their coaching craft on the same mooring ring as we were moored to and
left them bouncing about on the bows of Harnser. This didn't bother me
unduly but I can imagine some boaters getting very upset about it and I
can only guess what there view would have been had I moored alongside one
of their rowing jetties.
After tea last night we had a walk around the area. Where we moored was
a large locked up boat house which seamed to be in the middle of nowhere,
but when we walked behind it we came across a lake about a mile long
known as Dorney Rowing Lake with a large car park and Rowing Centre all
owned by Eton Collage.
We set off at 9 am because we needed to get a pump out at Boveney Lock
and the lock keepers don't start work until 9 am even though it was a
glorious sunny morning.
The day was very mixed weather wise with heavy short showers and
intermittent sunshine. We stopped for lunch at Laleham opposite the boatyard
and then continued on for the afternoon. We carried on past the Wey as
we don't need to go up there until Friday. Shortly after this we met
Felis Catus III on their way to the Basingstoke and stopped for the
night at Hampton Court Palace on the 24 hour moorings at 1700 hrs..
